South Dakota 24/7 Sobriety Project
South Dakota Attorney General Larry Long conceived of and administers the nation’s only 24/7 Sobriety Project. The progressive program, a Council of State Government’s Innovations Award winner in 2008, has reduced recidivism, cut jail and prison populations, and saved tax dollars by incorporating enhanced monitoring and real accountability.
